UNESCO Launches a Global Partnership on Girls’ and Women’s Education and a High-Level Panel on Girls’ and Women’s Education for Empowerment and Gender Equality

UNESCO recently launched a global partnership on girls’ and women’s education, which will complement other United Nations initiatives by focusing on the fragile period of adolescence and the scaling up of women’s literacy programmes through more robust public and private partnerships. Several such partnerships, which will benefit marginalized girls and women in Africa and Asia, have been concluded over the past months.
